N.S.P. was informally formed in 1995, in response to the chaos caused by open air
drug markets and crime in the community, in response to a drug-related shooting in
her neighborhood that year Ms. Cleopatra Jones demanded that something be
done immediately about the drug trafficking there, which was threatening to drag
the entire neighborhood into an abyss. The Mayor and Police Chief, as well as
Captains, and Commanders from all over the city, marched with Ms. Jones and
hundreds of her neighbors in a historic walk against drugs, crime and violence that
drew significant print and electronic attention to the neighborhood’s plight. This
became the impetus for Ms. Jones to found Neighbors of Seaton Place Inc. a 501c3,
organization for which she serves as Executive Director/Founder.
Elevate all young people as stakeholders engage youth adults and community in a positive bond built through educational experiences and exposure to relevant and effective
programs and practices, and inspire teens to participate in enriching networking opportunities.
