Mission: Educate, Elevate, and Inspire
Mission
Our mission is to provide a supportive arena in which youth can share with policy
makers and community leaders their opinions, and strategies for prevention and
solutions to some of the problems, such as teen drinking, teen pregnancies, drugs,
crime and violence.  To provide high quality, researched-based programs that meet
the needs of children and their families.  To help youth gain a true sense of who they
are and a full appreciation of their unique role in a contemporary society.

Purpose
Neighbors of Seaton Place seeks to enhance preparatory services for local youth, to
fully develop a continuum of services for the underemployed, including literacy, job
training and readiness and job placement services, and to ensure that all young
people successfully transition to adulthood.  Employment, internship/apprenticeships,
higher education, guidance counseling, and basic literacy life-skills training are all tools
we deploy to advance these goals.

N.S.P. develops strategies to serve all at-risk youth, an effort represented by our triad
of by words: motivate, inspire and nurture.  The ages between, 12-21 are critical
stages of life for most at risk males and females.  It is at this point in their lives that
they are face with life altering choices that can drastically affect their growth and
development.  N.S. P. programs are specifically designed to help young men and
young women gain a true sense of who they are and a full appreciation of their
unique role in a contemporary society.  In this regard, the program emphasizes
achieving academic excellence, building self-esteem, setting goals, understanding, the
criminal justice system, following an abstinence guideline, and developing strong
problem solving and coping skills.  Ultimately Neighbors of Seaton Place programs
focus on offering guidance for young adults to live healthy and productive lives.

A safe haven must exist in order for youth to make a successful transition to
adulthood, and Neighbors of Seaton Place seeks to provide a full continuum of
programs to help make this transition happen.  To succeed our youth must increase
their test scores in math and reading in comparison to other areas.  N.S.P. programs
fill that need through creative mentoring.  Disturbing and stressful experiences
threaten to demoralize our young as they are maturing and trying to find themselves.
N.S.P. delivers educational programs to neutralize negative urban trends by
expanding life-skills and fostering healthy relationships.  However, strong support is
needed to insure that today, tomorrow, and beyond, our future leaders will be heard
and their recommendations implemented.
