Programs
Neighbors of Seaton Place Inc., Programs are specifically designed to help young men
and young women gain a true sense of who they are and a full appreciation of their
unique role in a contemporary society.  In this regard the programs emphasize
achieving academic excellence, building self-esteem setting goals, understanding the
criminal justice system, and developing strong problem solving and coping skills.

Career Exploration/ Job Readiness - Youth engage in the exploration of various
careers, investigating the requirements for the career with emphasis on education
and job skills.  Youth participate in mock interviews with representatives of various
agencies, businesses, and organizations.  Job shadowing and resume writing are
integral parts of this program, as are workshops and appearances by visiting
speakers from various groups and business organizations.  Participants learn how to
“dress for success”, and engage in role-playing exercises.  Standard office policies
and procedures are reviewed. Objective: foster economic stability by providing
employability skills and training.

Camp *on* the GOooooo!!! - Objective is to provide learning through various travel
opportunities using an integrated approach which introduces and teaches urban
youth how to model social responsibilities, celebrate diversity, raise cultural
awareness and stimulate personal growth and character development which offers
empowerment to begin the path to becoming tomorrow’s leaders in their
communities.  The essence of enjoying life is Exposure.

NSP-Black Diamonds - A program for “Girls acquiring meaningful experiences “ ages
13-21  this program helps NSP-Black Diamonds young ladies socially, economically,
intellectually, and professionally by  offering weekly workshops on health and
hygiene, management and finances, self-improvement, technology, ethics, arts public
speaking, etiquette, creative writing and career planning.  The NSP-Black Diamonds
Leadership program for adolescent “Girls” will achieve five of the six citywide goals
with major focus on (#6) Youth make a successful transition to adulthood, (#2) and
youth practice healthy behaviors, and (#3), youth engaged in meaningful activities.

Finding Voices, Speaking Out - Collaboration with Community Based Organizations,
utilizing resources, to help youth learn to navigate the realities of the music industry
and be prepared to seize the opportunities that lead to their dreams.  The program
offers teens and young adults, the opportunity to master innovative music software,
learn how to play and record live instruments, design CD’s, marketing their music,
marketing their lyrics, and their  abilities.  Business management, time management,
and music diversity.

Youth Alternative Programs (YAP) - Empowering young adults with the tools
needed to make positive lifestyle choices.  Activities are designed to get young
people to think outside the box to address quality of life issues and community
conditions that trigger substance abuse, teenage drinking, drugs, youth violence,
abuse- neglect, risky behavior, teen pregnancy, and truancy.  Workshops will be
themed around bonding, self-awareness, etiquette, and social skills, evaluation and
hands on projects stressing leadership, healthy relationships, development, and
educational equity.
Elevate all young people as stakeholders engage youth adults and community in a positive bond built through educational experiences and exposure to relevant and effective
programs and practices, and inspire teens to participate in enriching networking opportunities.
